Alicante Province
Alicante Province is made up of a semicircle of mountain ranges that surround the capital of Alicante city, a major port and a thriving modern city. Its tourist resorts are renowned, multitudes are drawn here each summer to absorb themselves in the fantastic surroundings that Alicante has to offer.
There is are an enormous range of watersports on offer in the area because of the beautiful climate, white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters; wind surfing, snorkelling, water skiing, scuba diving, fishing, sailing and jet skiing.
Inland lie the famous orange groves of the Valencia oranges and forests of date palms. Alicante also offers a wide variety of historic monuments and museums, plus great shopping.
The Al Altet airport is 10 km from the city centre, just off the main national N340 road connecting you to Andalucia, Murcia, Valencia and Barcelona. The port provides access to the Balearics and Algiers.
